A dignified setting… a welcoming environment
Melissa’s Place is the ideal home-like setting that provides comprehensive daytime health, social and emotional support services for older adults, while providing peace of mind for caregivers. For the many older adults living at home, either alone or with their adult children or caregivers, having a place to go during the day that offers social and medical attention gives them something to look forward to. It also provides peace of mind for the care-givers knowing that their loved one is being cared for while they are at work or are performing their own day-time activities.
Our goal at Melissa’s Place is to provide an environment that encourages interaction and growth of participants. In this safe, supportive environment, participants receive nutritious meals and participate in planned activities that keep both the mind and body active.
This dignified setting encourages participants to live life to the fullest.
Nutrition and Meals
At Melissa’s Place, the participant is provided a light breakfast, full-course lunch and a nutritious afternoon snack. All snacks and meals are coordinated by a dietitian to meet individual nutritional needs and can be modified as needs change.
At Melissa’s Place, our Activities Coordinators plan activities that stimulate the mind as well as exercise the body. Daily activities such as morning exercise, art therapy, music therapy, pet therapy and crafts such as gardening, cooking, knitting, puzzle-making, card clubs and social investment clubs allow for participation on all levels. We even have guest speakers and entertainers for those with varied interests.
Our professional staff provides basic nursing services and communicates with the participant’s physician when necessary. Monthly preventative health checks, medication oversight and assistance with personal care or other minor medical services are also provided.
